Consulting Services
Urban Forestry Services,
Inc. offers urban forestry and horticultural
consulting within and around urban
environments. From street trees, to
park trees, to second growth forests,
a different knowledge and perspective
is expected. With respect to master
planning, major development or landscape
improvements, the trees and vegetation
are an important natural resource
that contributes to the environmental,
physical, and social benefits of any
project area. We are experienced in
evaluating urban second growth forests
for all these reasons.
Specifically, our
approach in assessing native forests
is more than an inventory of volume
and species. Our approach is on the
basis of species and plant communities
that contribute to the goals and objectives
of the plan that must be recognized
during the evaluation process. For
example, tree species, size, condition,
age, and character will determine
suitability for recreation, interpretation,
wildlife habitat, watershed management,
screening, or needed restoration.
When future use is determined, management
recommendations may include, but not
be limited to: forest thinning to
improve overall forest conditions,
enhancement planting to accelerate
desired successional changes, and
removing hazard trees to minimize
damage or injury. Experience in implementing
all of these is critical in assessing
raw land for future master planning.
Consider our services
when determining the type of natural
resource assessment you will need.
